Common questions
Which devices does CRAWLSPACE run on?
iPhone running iOS 15 or later. It's a 3D game, so newer iPhones give the smoothest experience. It's played in landscape.
Do I need an internet connection or an account?
No. CRAWLSPACE plays completely offline and there are no accounts, sign-ins, ads or in-app purchases.
I can't find the code.
The four numbers are painted in red on the end wall of one dead end. A different dead end is picked every run, usually well away from where you start. Search the dead ends one by one, and look at the far wall when you reach the end of each one.
Where is the exit?
One vent opening at the edge of the maze glows green. Crawl through it into the hallway, then enter the code on the keypad next to the elevator.
It keeps catching me. Any tips?
Keep your flashlight on it and back away rather than turning around. It only moves while it isn't being watched. When the red eye at the top of the screen appears, it has seen you. A shot from the pistol makes it rush you and then disappear for a while, which buys you time. See How to Play for more.
Is my progress saved?
Each run is three in-game days long and is meant to be played in one session. Your settings (sensitivity, volume and brightness) are saved on your iPhone. If you close the app in the middle of a run, the next run starts from the menu.
It's too dark or the controls feel wrong.
Open Settings in the main menu and raise Brightness, or change Sensitivity to make looking around faster or slower. Lowering your screen's auto-brightness can also make the dark harder to see in, so try turning the iPhone's brightness up.
The game is choppy or my phone gets warm.
Close other apps, make sure Low Power Mode is off, and let the phone cool down. If it keeps happening, send us your iPhone model and iOS version using the form below.
Is it safe for people with photosensitive epilepsy?
CRAWLSPACE contains flashing lights, strobe effects and sudden loud sounds. If you or anyone in your family has had seizures or epilepsy, talk to a doctor before playing. Stop playing straight away if you feel dizzy, have blurred vision, twitching or any other discomfort.
Is it suitable for kids?
CRAWLSPACE is a horror game with jump scares, frightening images and shooting at a creature. Check the age rating on the App Store. We don't recommend it for young children.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases on the App Store are handled by Apple, so we can't issue refunds ourselves. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
What data does the game collect?
None. CRAWLSPACE doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. See the Privacy Policy.
